Infinity describes many levels, but it really doesn't matter how many there are. That's the whole point of infinity, to let go of numbers and look at the absolutes, the real deal, what it is that makes no grain of sand the same. Uncertainty sure plays a part, that no-one can deny, not even Brian Cox, but there's something else we see every day. Few days go by without a synchronicity appearing, one of those indefinable coincidences that might look very big or very small depending on which way you look at it. But from your own perspective, there's a microscope in the way.
Sources have suggested to me that synchronicity is the product of many, many layers in the quantum process of entanglement (‘tangled hierarchy' seems the better term to me). There are plenty of influences in our bodily, physical lives, things we're hit by every day, with technology making sure we don't waste any time in getting the 'influence fix'. From films to Facebook, we're affected by a lot of interference in our world line and, true to quantum form, we get sidetracked onto another whirlpool of event horizons pretty quickly. If this layer cake is an accurate definition, then forces at work in orchestrating ‘what's important' in our lives are far deeper than we can even begin to touch at the physical level. We can't afford to waste an infinite amount of time dabbling around in the rockpools of 3D reality when there's something beyond that blue horizon which we don't yet know exists. We suspect it exists, that's why we're chasing a Theory of Everything or a God we can believe in, particle or otherwise. But knowing and suspecting are the difference between theorising and accepting. Those elusive absolutes are hard to pin down. Because they're not real. Even Einstein faces some hefty challenges right now - it seems the quantum world is determined to break him even after his death, not satisfied with following him into the grace of the grave.
People keep saying, mainly tweeting in my reality, "As above, so below." We've all heard it and we all know it's true. The difference between knowing what's there and finding it lies in the places we haven't seen yet, and that will always be the case, so who's up for a dive>?
