As an engineering expert, he will know a lot about antimatter and neutrino energy, so when the debate hots up over Dark Materials, LeVar Burton (to whom Geordi owes his very existence) will be a very welcome contributor!
We know that Star Trek brought us mobile phones and sliding doors. Sci-fi predates reality by less than a lifetime in most cases. We've yet to see whether the Dark Matter which right now is engulfing the physics community will be set alight by insights from one of our best-loved science fiction heroes!
